The Mangrove Hotel has established itself as the premier ocean view resort in Broome, Western Australia.
Ideally located on the turquoise shores of Roebuck Bay, just minutes from downtown shopping and famous Cable Beach the Mangrove Hotel is one of the most picturesque places to stay in Broome. The hotel's beautifully manicured lawns and lush tropical gardens create an idyllic setting against the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean.
 
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the second-in-command in our kitchen, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee food preparation, maintain kitchen standards, and inspire a team dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of performance.
  • Maintain food quality, presentation, and consistency in line with our brand.
  • Oversee inventory, order supplies, and manage food costs effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Step into the Executive Chef's role when required, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
 Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a similar role in a high-paced kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of current food trends and concepts
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Culinary qualification or equivalent experience.
